Routers / Depanelling

In an SMT (Surface Mount Technology) plant, a router is used primarily for depaneling or singulation - the process of separating individual PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) from a larger panel consisting of multiple boards. This separation is necessary because PCBs are often manufactured in panels containing multiple units to improve manufacturing efficiency. Once the assembly process is complete, these units need to be separated for installation in devices or for further processing. The router plays a crucial role in this phase of production, ensuring precision and minimizing damage to the PCBs.
